THE SITUATION

A rapid expansion had left Ladbrokes with growing pains. Suppliers were all operating on different terms, exposing them to risk and liability while existing processes had become complex, causing delays in decision making – they also no longer suited the new company dynamics.

THE CHALLENGE

Ladbrokes needed to reduce liability and costs, align suppliers on standard terms and ensure that they all had satisfactory insurance in place. Cognita’s first steps were to address these challenges.

THE SOLUTION

Cognita conducted a thorough audit and devised a new rate card to keep control of the overall blended charge rate for project resources. This resulted in greater cost controls; saving £150,000 per year. We then controlled the supply chain with a managed service approach to halt non-compliant supply and reduce costs.

Compliance has increased to 100% and delivery is consistent. All project resources now fall under one Cognita central agreement and every project practice has improved.

Ladbrokes’ culture is anchored in employee values and vision. We assessed our resource to ensure the people employed reflect those values. This meant project teams were seamlessly integrated with the permanent staff. We also assessed our consultants against their competency framework to accurately meet the client’s requirements. Our onsite PMO function addressed any resource issues, from output tracking to on-boarding, allowing all project performance to be visible and measured.
